Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account Data: Phone number (if you sign in via OTP) and/or email address and basic profile info (if you sign in with Google), collected at registration.
Profile Information: Username, bio, and profile photo you provide.
Content Data: Stories, chapters, and reviews you create or submit.
Usage Data: Reading progress, bookmarks, read counts, and app interactions.
Device Data: Device type, OS version, and basic diagnostic information used to keep the app running reliably.
Advertising Data: When you view ads in the app, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) automatically collects your advertising identifier, device information, IP address, and ad interaction data. See "Advertising" below.

2. How We Use Your Information

To authenticate and manage your account.
To display your profile, stories, and activity to other users.
To save your reading progress and bookmarks across devices.
To calculate story ratings and review counts.
To send in-app notifications relevant to your content (reviews, approvals).
To improve app performance and diagnose issues.
To serve and measure advertising, as described in "Advertising" below.

3. Data Storage

All data is stored securely on Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Firestore & Firebase Storage). Firebase complies with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection laws. See: Firebase Privacy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Google Firebase — our infrastructure provider, for authentication, database, and storage.
Google AdMob — our advertising partner, which receives your advertising identifier and related device/usage data to serve and measure ads. See "Advertising" below.
Law enforcement or regulators — only if required by applicable law.

Public profile data (username, bio, published stories, reviews) is visible to all users of the app.

5. Advertising

EpicPlay displays ads served by Google AdMob, using the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and process:

Your advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / Apple IDFA)
Device and app information (device type, OS version, app usage)
IP address and approximate location derived from it
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

This data may be used to personalize the ads you see, unless you've opted out (see "Your Ad Choices & Consent" below). Google's use of this data is governed by Google's own policies: policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

6. Your Ad Choices & Consent

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads, using a certified consent management platform. You can change this choice at any time from the app: Profile → Privacy Options.

Everywhere else, you can opt out of personalized advertising at the device level: Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization." iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Opting out limits ad personalization; you will still see ads.

7. Audio Content

Audio files uploaded or streamed via the app are stored in Firebase Storage. We do not share or license your uploaded audio to third parties, other than as needed to deliver it to you through the app.

8. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and we do not knowingly serve child-directed ad requests. If discovered, such accounts will be deleted.

9. Your Rights

Access / Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us.
Deletion: Delete your account and associated data from within the app or by contacting us.
Correction: Edit your profile and content at any time within the app.

10. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Deleted accounts have associated data removed within 30 days.

11. Security

We use Firebase's built-in security rules, HTTPS encryption in transit, and Firebase Authentication to protect your data.
